    Hi,

I've a HDX16t with 320GB 5400 RPM and 3GB Memory. Now i'm planning to add 320GB 7200 RPM HDD and upgrade RAM to 4GB (have some good deals on NewEgg for both). I believe that running OS on 7200 RPM HDD would be faster than running on 5400 RPM drive.....is that true? If yes, then how do i move/fresh install vista with existing license? I don't think my laptop came with a Vista DVD. can i also upgrade to 64 bit home premium from 32 bit with my existing license?

regarding memory, can i run 2 GB of HP memory and 2 GB of Kingston or both slots should run same make?

I'm sorry if my english is bad!

I appreciate your quick help (deals may not last long.....)

You should have the ability to burn restore DVD's using the HP provided software with the original factory installation of the OS. If you have burnt or burn those DVD's then you should be easily able to reinstall the OS on the new drive. Another option would be to use the ABR tool located in the Vista installation sticky thread on the top of the forums and do a clean install of Vista using a regular Vista DVD(not restore discs) and transfer the license using the abr tool or you can create an image of the drive and transfer it that way using Acronis true image or norton ghost.
