On the software forum I had posted a question concerning the amount of hard drive partiton space needed to run XP-Pro OS. I have a HP zv5000z ordered with the standard 30 gig drive which I will be replacing with a 7200 RPM 60 gig drive. I will be partitioning the new drive into two partitions to separate the OS from other programs & data files. I was informed that 8 to 10 gigs will be OK. But another poster stated that he was advised by HP that partitioning the hard-drive will void all warranties. I have never heard of this before. Could it be that HP installs a hidden partition in their drives for storage of recovery files & utility files? I don't plan on partitioning the original HP installed drive anyway, but others might want to be aware of this if true. I have not checked it out with HP myself.

Just save your old 30GB drive and then if anything ever happens just put the origianl drive back in and you'll be ok.
