After doing a update check from HP health check icon, it recommend me to install an health check update active support library which was critical and the only option was to repair. Well, during the installation, this error came up...and the installer exit. I've tried to install this a couple months ago with the same results.

"Error 1316. A network error occured while attempting to read from the file c:\Windows\Installer\HP Active Support Library.msi

"Error: -1603 Fatal Error during installation, consult windows installer help (Msi.chm) or MSDN for more information"

Also, when I try to do an HP update, one of the downloads was HP software update and after downloading it, the windows install appear and I accidently canceled. Then I tried downloading it again and this time the windows intstall window appeared and then it just stayed there for about 25 min. Process explorer showed that the installer was using 40-55 cpu usage. After 30 min I gave up and just cancelled, but that popup stayed there and I had to terminate the process through task manager. Help anyone?

HP Health Check is pretty inaccurate. I would recommend a manual update through their website. Are you using a wifi connection? Also, I would suggest cleaning out your temp files and then try reinstalling the HP software update.
