    HP IMPRINT Finish , how scratch resistant is it?

    just curious if someone knows, cause one seller was telling me it's scratch resistant, but i dont believe that.


    Because, i can see some lil scratches, not sure from where, as i ahven't used it anywhere but on my desk,,

    oh well just curious

    I would have to say it is more scratch, but there are no guarantees. I have had my V3000T for two months without a mark on it. The dv6000z I wrote the review of which had the imprint finish went back without a mark.

    I think the IMPRINT is not meant for scratch resistant although it does make light scratch less noticable.
    In my opinion, the main functions of IMPRINT are

    1. To avoid wear and tear of the plastic palm rest. When you look at any old notebooks the first thing you notice is how "shiny" the palm rest, the touchpad, and the right side of the space bar are. With IMPRINT at least the palm rest and the touchpad would not become shiny after a few months of use.

    2. To give the notebook a pseudo piano coating.

    I don't know if it's scratch resistant....but it sho' looks pretty!

    I've had my dv2000 for nearly two months, and there aren't any scratches I can see on it.

    No scratches here either but the notebook really is a fingerprint magnet as many reviewers have commented.
