On their new DVx series, HP is offering the option of upgrading to an "Infinity Brightview" screen. Does anyone know what difference there is between this and the regular Brightview?

Infinity is just the brand name speak for the border less design you see on the Mininote or the Lenovo U110. Its essentially a glass layer on top of the screen, it looks good but many people dont like the amount of reflections that this creates on top of the already glossy screens.

I'm a bit confused...this means that the screen part of the laptop is completely flat, instead of how it has an indentation where the LCD goes right now?

    Yeah, just like this Lenovo...

There is a layer of glass on top of the LCD which gives you the feeling that the LCD sits fluch with the frame.

How much is that upgrade? Or are they offering it free as a promotion?

Currently its being offered as a free upgrade. But they do mention it as a $50 value, so I would expect it to be $50 option when the free offer ends.
