    I have a quick question,

my HP L2000 developed, out of nowhere, a white bar at the bottom of the screen. It appears even before booting, even before windows starts.

Does anyone know what could be causing it?

Could it be the lcd inverter board?

See if an external display has the same problem. If it does it's the video chip and you'll need a new motherboard. If it doesn't then it's probably the screen.

It does not show up when connected to an external monitor.

I have no idea what it could be, and now there are 2 lines.

I have attached a picture of the phenomenon. Anyone experience this before?

It almost looks like the back light is showing through, but I am probably wrong.

I'd guess that the panel is going bad.
