Does anyone know if the HP L2000 notebook have the same issues as some of the Dell Inspiron 700m's have with audio input that interrupts/or interfereces with the usage of voip applications such as skype etc?

If you have tried using such applications, especially skype, with the L2000, would appreciate you sharing your experience.

    Thanks.

Ok, finally got the L2000 for my wife and also to report that skype worked with the L2000 - at least we were able to engaged in a short conversation over the internet using skype with no problem. Will continue to report as we use it more in the next few days.

Thanks for info, but haven't had a wired phone for like 6-7 years.

Did more skyp-ing with skype on the HP Special Edition L2000 and am very happy with the performance.

Over the weekend, we made a 20 minute long distance call (pc to pc) from Southern Cal to Tapei with no problem and another 30 minute call to Singapore. The sound was crystal clear and the person we called in Singapore even commented that we were very clear. This was quite a big difference when I was using my Dell 5150 to call these people who always complained that I sounded like a duck, but not this time with the L2000. There were also no apparent interruption whereas I would encounter interruptions every now and then when using the 5150.

Note: the same microphone and broadband /wireless router were used for both notebooks. The L2000 also sounded clearer further away (approx 25 feet) from the wireless router than the 5150 which was only a couple of feet away.
