Hey guys, I was searching through the HP website and NBR forums but I couldn't find the info. I bought a dv6t a few weeks ago and there a couple of issues with and I remember seeing the forums that people sent back their laptops for a replacement. Does anyone know what happesn to the 21 days no questions asked return policy with the replacement laptop? In addition, do you send your laptop back first and then they send you the new one? Thanks a lot.

you have to request a return from through HP before you can actually send it back. you can request it via chat or through the phone. once you have the return form or they email you a fedex printable page that way you can pack up your laptop and ship it back without any charges to you. like a day or 2 later your going to receive an email saying that they received your package, once thats done you get your money back and can order another one if you choose to.

LOL! It took a lot longer than "a day or two" for HP to receive either of the two DV6's I returned to them. they were good about issuing a refund shortly after they received the laptops.

So then what you are saying that in terms of a replacement policy it doesn't exist correct? The issue is that the deal that I got with the coupon I used is better than what they offer now, so I was trying to get the exact same deal as before. So then does that mean that isn't possible? Thanks

Just for the record, they start the refund process as soon as FedEx receives the package. Usually the refund goes through with in 5 days. I've had so many hassles with HP, but their return process is excellent.

When I called HP, they verified that they wouldn't start processing a credit until after they received it. However, the credits appeared on my statement the day I sent it back. goes to show the HP drones don't know Jack. :)

and transit time was SIX DAYS, btw.

So there is no way to replicate the exact same deal that I bought my previous laptop for? Does that mean the best way to do this would just be to order a new laptop now, and then initiate the refund process like a week and a half later (I'm on day 5 of the 21 days)? Thanks.

as long as u call them for the RMA within 21 days, you'll get a refund. Initially, I requested an RMA too early, so I simply didn't use it, called them a second time for a second RMA (they are only good for FIVE DAYS). that way I could use the laptop until the second unit arrived. Unfortunately, that one also had to go back, so I am back to square one.

Does the 21-day period start when the laptop ships or when it is delivered?
