I can upload them but any idea of where the avatar picture would be saved?

also, what login wallpaper are you talking about? I have some HP wallpapers, but the login wallpaper is just the windows 7 regular wallpaper.

EDIT: Nevermind, they didn't set some of the values in the registry to allow the custom wallpaper, and the wallpaper was to big in size in the directory, so it did not work. I changed it, so it does work

I will upload all backgrounds in a few minutes, but I am still looking for the avatar pictures if anyone knows.

Alright here are all the wallpapers that came with the ENVY 14:

Free File Hosting Made Simple - MediaFire

I cannot find the avatar, once I changed my avatar, it disappeared, and I can no longer find where it is on the computer

What registry values have you changed in order to make the resized wallpaper work? Where do I have to put the wallpaper in which format?

Alright here is what you do:

First place the background called login wallpaper (from the files I uploaded) to this location:

    C:\Windows\System32\oobe\Info\backgrounds

    Name the wallpaper:

    BackgroundDefault

Jpeg should be fine, which is what I uploaded it in.

Next edit the registry. Go to:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Authentication \ LogonUI \ Background

There should be something called OEMBackground. Change the value to 1 and it will work.

If you do not have this location in the registry, create the location:

Next, right click in the location and create a new DWORD. Rename it to OEMBackground and change the value to 1.

This should work. This is what OEM's do to give custom backgrounds, and on mine, it seems like they messed up on mine by not setting the values right, and placing the wrong background in the location.

If you want another custom login wallpaper background, you can use any image, as long as it is smaller the 256Kb.

    EDIT: Post 1000 :D

Personally I like the default Windows 7 login images and such.

Still, thanks for the guide and uploads, guys. :)

You named the 1920x1080 pic as login image although the Envy 14 has a native resolution of 1600x900. Should I really place the Full-HD pic as login image or the 1600x900px one?

It doesn't really matter. I have mine set as the 1920x1080 image.

Long as you name it as the default you are fine.

For some reason, the smaller image was larger in size (more kbs) than the 1920x1080 one. The 1920x1080 is the only one that is small enough in size I believe.

Trust me, it works. Windows automatically resizes it anyways.

It worked perfectly! :) There was already a smaller image in the directory but it did not work even with the registry key set. I replaced it with the larger image and it finally worked. Looks really noble now.

The weird thing is that the backgroundDefault.jpg on one of my envy 14s is over 300 kb and everything works fine. I tried moving that file to my envy 14 where I did a clean install but it wouldn't use that image unless I made it smaller than 256 kb. I wonder how the 300+ kb file works on my envy 14 with the factory OS.
