So, I borrowed my friend's pretty much unused MINI 110 1125NR (it's been gathering dust in a closet since christmas) with Windows 7 starter , to listen to music while I was doing work on my laptop that has a busted headphone jack. When I booted it up, it found windows updates and so I let it go through that process.

After it restarted, I opened up Firefox and all of a sudden the display went screwy, with a blue tint to everything and a noticeable drop in quality (kind of looks like the 256 color option on Win 95, though not that bad - icons are slightly pixellated).

I tried downloading and installing the drivers for the integrated Intel GMA off the HP site to no avail. I tried doing a System Restore to the point before installing the windows updates, but that didn't fix the problem either.

The colors are normal when doing the VGA output to a monitor. All the usual display settings look normal (I hadn't touched them before the problem occurred). The listing under Monitors in the Device Manager is 'Generic Pnp Monitor' (which I assume is normal).

What worries me the most is that the blue-tint is noticeable in the boot-up text and windows loading screen. I'd rather not have to tell my friend that his MINI's screen just up and broke itself for no apparent reason, but I'm running out of ideas.

Has anyone seen this before or know what's up?
