This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     HP Mini 1000 fan always on, even when it's not very hot.

    2GB RAM
    16GB SSD
    6 cell battery
    Lubuntu 12.04
    CPU scaling (currently 800MHz)

    I can hear noise from the large left-side vent, but can't feel any air movement, and neither of the vents seem clogged.

    Any thoughts? Do I need to tear it apart and blow out collected dust?
