    Hey all,



    I was thinking about upgrading my HP 1001TU WiFi card to an Atheros one. Any Atheros one. However i dont know if its possible or not. Can anyone give me some advice??

    Probably not. HP puts a whitelist in their BIOSes that locks out "unapproved" internal WiFi cards, claiming that the FCC made them do it even though no other manufacturer does. Odds are your notebook is no different, but if you want to try swapping cards please let us know if HP is still engaging in this maddeningly stupid practice.
