My sister's 15 months hp mini just gave up with a poof, shy of 4 months post warranty period
    Its a N550 1.5 Ghz 10.1 incher ( HP Mini 110-3536tu)

HP support is non-existent and retailers push for new ones rather than mending this

    Dis-assembly shows following

i am not sure if there is any other provision other than board replacement

even if possible would that be economical over a new system

I guess this is beyond repair !

If you know any electronical repair shop they could try replacing burnt element if that is only thing that gave up. If that notebook is fast enough for her sending few emails and asking around wouldnt hurt. Outside of finding very skilled electrician any course of action is a new mainboard. Biggest problem with repair is if its only one element or more of them.
