My HP6910p crashed after a power off. In save mode the .sys loadingsequence always stopped at hpdskflt.sys and after rebooting I get a nive blue screen with the error message BAD POOL CALLER.
I am not an expert, but I suspect that the HP Mobile Data Protection is most probably the source of my problem. I have already copied a new hpdskflt.sys file via the Console mode but no way to restart. I am looking for advise on how to:
    - solve the problem
    - disable the HP Mobile Data Protection via the console mode
    - Create a boot DVD from another similar laptop to restart mine and recover all datas.
    Any advices are welcome

Interesting; I just had a similar experience on my new HP 2133 Mini-Note... but with a twist: Mine ONLY happens when I try to go into Safe Mode, and it happens every time. I'm going to fool with it some more, and if I figure anything out I'll come back here and post. Sure sounds like an HP problem.

I realize this is probably too late to be of any help with your data rescue, but BartPE has always worked great for me.
