Storing in the Express Card Slot does nothing special, its just to fill the hole which would be empty if the remote was not in it. The laptop would/should have come with a Piece of plastic to fill the Express card Slot if you do not want the remote in it and you also dont want dust to get in either.

The buttons on the remote are pretty much self explanatory.
If its the same as the one I have for the TX (small express card remote), then the green button I think is the Windows Media Centre, The DVD button opens up the DVD section of the Media Centre. The arrows are a guide to move to the next selectable item/menu. OK is to select the highlighted item, and the rest of the buttons pause, play, fast forward, rewind and stop and volume controls...

Hmm... I hope this is what you meant... otherwise I would have been babbling on for nothing :p

Using the remote is very easy. Nothing too difficult.

Yeah just point at sensor and push the button. Mine works with Quickplay and Windows media player, no joy with VLC player though which is a bummer as its the one I use most often

If the program your using can enable global hotkeys, then it will work with the mini remote.

    winamp ftw!

Can you tell me, on the remote control, what does the button (with rectangle like shape on it) on the right side of power button do?? When I press it, screen goes blank for 1-2 seconds and then come back with no apparent changes. What is it meant to do afterall??

i just realised it's a pain in the ass to take out the plastic from the express card slot and it's even harder to take out the remote control if u put it in there instead of that plastic. is there any easier way to take the remote control out of the slot? also, i realised that it's right above the hard disk so the remote control will heat up quite a lot. will the heat actually spoilt the remote control or the battery in it?

It doesn't pop out if you push it in? Thats how mine worked in my DV6609, just like an SD slot, push in, it pops out a bit.
