    I would like to buy a refurbished/used HP NC2400 (12.1" ultra portable), but that 1.2 GHz Core Solo or even Duo may not be enough.

    What platform is the NC2400 running?

    What is the thermal budget? and fastest type of CPU I can put in one?

    It's soldered on suggest go for u7600/u7700 2510p instead. See here for an idea of cpu performance ranking.
