I bet it has the same Radeon 200M as the rest of the current HP AMD notebooks and the marketing department got confused. The 200M is based on the X300.

I'd still prefer the L2000 Special Edition... I think. 15" SXGA+ screen or 14" 1280 pixel widescreen? Hmm.

HP has really started to get cozy with AMD lately. Their press release today about their 10 millionth ProLiant server talked a lot about AMD dual core Opteron servers and made no mention of Intel. Good to see. Now if they'll just release a Turion or Athlon 64 version of the zd8000 notebook...

Actually, it's a bit weird. their Quick Specs indicates that it has the ATI Radeon Xpress 200M Chipset and an ATI Mobility Radeon X300 w/upto 128MB of allocated system memory (I'm assuming this means shared video memory). I though the 200M was the GPU, but from their description, it looks like it's the chipset (like 855PM & 915PM chipsets for Pentium M systems) used for the systemboard.

Another weird thing is their warranty. Normally the NX series notebooks only have a 1 year warranty, but this is protected by a 3 year warranty.

The Radeon 200M is the northbridge with integrated GPU. You can add up to 128MB of dedicated memory to it (the zv6000 does this), which is a pretty neat trick, plus add up to 128MB of system memory to that (which is largely useless). Most of the time they don't include any dedicated memory and you have to use system memory, which is probably the case here. Or HP really does have a X300 GPU in there, which makes no sense at all.

I think I have read posts of users indicating that some units (I believe the nc6200 series) which have the ATI x300, come with shared video memory. But when I checked the specs in Canada, it says it's dedicated video memory. I think it turned out to be 2 different setups, some systems with dedicated, some with shared.
