Hi guys, I've noticed couple a days ago that my display is behaving strangely. Today when I wanted to turn on the laptop, the screen was RED. I tried couple of times again, with connected to the power AC and without, but it starts Windows and everything is working, but my screen is still RED. I connected the laptop to an external monitor to check if the graphic card is causing the problem, but no, the picture was perfect. So I'm guessing it is something with inverters or the hole LCD. Do you have any ideas? And is is possible to buy spare parts from HP (I live in Germany)?
It is a HP NX7400 with WXGA (1280x800) Display.

Quite possibly it is just LCD Cable that runs thru one hinge. Sometimes it breaks over time, when screen is opened and closed a lot. Move screen up and down, does the color change?
Spare part is cheap compared to LCD screen, I'm pretty sure it would be less than 20 eurosDefinitely worth trying before ordering full LCD replacement.
EET Nordic supplies original HP parts to resellers ( http://de.eetnordic.com/guides/products.aspx?m=71941639). You cannot buy directly from them, so you must contact some local computer shop and ask them to order you the part. Not all parts are listed, availability is told when asked, prices are only told to the resellers
I used to order lots of parts from EET when I worked as a laptop tech, as authorized tech for Fujitsu and Acer computers but I also fixed lot of HP computers -
You can also use some other 15.4" LCD on HP, original HP spare parts cost a fortune(actually they replace LCD with plastic)
I put my points to broken LCD (new one cost about 100 €uros)
