Looks like this is for HP systems with AMD processors. I sure am glad I waited a bit before buying a notebook with vista. It always takes manufacturers a while to iron out hardware/drivers for a new OS. In some cases, they never get correct driver support for OS upgrades.

What do you mean it finally charges???

I've never had a problem with the charging of my laptop battery at all, however, I haven't used the more recent BIOSs past f15 (current) because they all run the fan too much or cause more heat.

Does anyone else have a problem with charging with the f16-f27 BIOSs?

Well I updated the memory in mine to 4 gigs, swapped out processors from the 1.6 to the 2.3 and installed dual 7200rpm 200 gig drives and when I did this my battery no longer was charging until I did this Bios Update

I just flashed to F.3B. My battery refused to charge yesterday, so it's perfect timing! The fan seems to be quieter, but it might just be psychological since it was the loudest I ever heard it after I clicked flash (I didn't think a laptop could make that much noise).

Hopefully my battery won't refuse to charge anymore. Two nights ago, I clicked shut down, but Vista must have froze while it was installing updates or something. I didn't realize this and put it in my backpack, so it must have been running all night until the battery drained to nothing. Yesterday, I pulled it out and tried turning it on. Nothing. I plugged it in and noticed my middle charge LED flashing (it never does that, only the power LED flashes when it's on stand by). It refused to charge whether running or while off. I tried reseating the battery. Nothing.

Anyway, now it's taking a charge. I'll see what's broke in Ubuntu when I restart. Also, coming from F.27, you will notice a change in QuickButton noise. Seems more annoying now. My brothers DV2500T makes a click. Mine now makes a beep-tap.
