Hey guys.
On several notebooks, I have seen a feature which tells you how many hours and minutes you have remaining until the battery dies.
Like, if you click the battery icon, you can usually see it there.
Do HP notebooks have that?
However, I'm not after the third party programs. I'm looking for the HP software to do it.
If anyone knows anything about the HP time remaining thing, I would really appreciate it.
Thanks in advance

Yes, all HP notebooks after 2007 don't show battery time. I use batterybar. Its free and it shows time etc.

is there a reason for this? i've always been confused why its not an included feature
-
I have no idea. I think it was a stupid decision.

I think it depends on you OS cause I had Win 7 in my wife HP 6530B it show the remaining batery with Hours/minute

I use the sidebar gadget from http://www.julien-manici.com/ to calculate it. Also sometimes easier to just set that on always on top so I can see how much better I have left.

Vista doesn't have that option, it will only show a percentage.
I hear Windows 7 will have that feature though. -

I suspect that what is displayed is determined by the power
management drivers, so there are no settings that can be adjusted. Time
remaining under battery power is very dependent on the level of usage as
well, so any estimations of time remaining (which is all those really are,
estimates) based on percentage of discharge could be off considerably if
usage is heavy or light. -
i have win7 and it still doesnt show time it only shows percent

What happens when you hover your mouse over the battery icon on the taskbar?
My HP notebook only shows the percentage. But not how much time remaining in hours and minutes I think HP disabled that option not sure why though.
