My HP Pavilion dv2700 Notebook PC has been running without problems for the past few months, but it started acting up yesterday. It freezes randomly, like when I try loading a game that I was able to load for the past month or so. One instance was that it froze on the green bars screen, right after restarting. Another was that it froze on the desktop when I'm on an internet browser. I'm able to move my mouse, but everything else is frozen. I'm starting to think that it was cause I sort of "dropped" the laptop onto my table, cause it was a pretty loud thud.

    Here are my specs:
    Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T5750 @ 2.00 GHz 2.00 GHz
    RAM: 2.00 GB
    System type: 64-bit Operating System
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS

Can someone please help me fix this problem? The last time I installed something was last week, and it was working fine after the installation. I'm running on Windows Vista Home Edition by the way.

When your laptop freezes try hitting ctrl alt delete and see if you can open task manager.

Oh I forgot to mention that I tried using Ctrl+Alt+Del or Ctrl+Shift+Esc, and none of that works. Everything's frozen except for the mouse :/.
