    Ok folks,
This thing has been bugging me for the past 2 weeks now.

I walked into Futureshop and purchased a HP laptop 2 weeks back.
It was the HP DV 6327.

    Specs:
AMD Turion X2 Dual Core TL-52 1.6 GHz.
    2 GB DDR2 RAM
    Nvidia 6150 graphics
160 GB 5400 RPM Hard drive
    Webcam + Built in Mic
    15.4" WXGA LCD
    6 Cell Lithium Ion battery
I paid $1240 Canadian Dollars for it including taxes.
    DVD Write with LightScribe
I have not had any problems with the notebook. It runs very well.
But the battery life is horrible. It gives me 1.5 hours max with HP's reccomended settings.

Anyhow, I have been reading a lot about the Intel Santa Rosas that HP has just introduced.
Is it better to buy the Santa Rosa notebooks by HP?
How much do you guys think it will cost me to get a DV 6500T?

I dont want to spend too much on the notebook. If I could pick up a Santa Rosa for 1250 Canadian $ or 1150 USD, it will fit my budget.

Will I be better off with a Santa Rosa notebook, or should I keep my current notebook?

    Any help is much appreciated.
    Thanks.

Right now I have the same laptop as yours except with a 120GB hard drive (a DV6253cl). I plan on replacing this one with one I just ordered. It has a Core 2 Duo T5300 which is more energy efficient and better performing and a Go 7400 graphics card which will provide better performance for games and other graphic using applications. I was gonna custom order one with a 12 cell battery, but it would be cheaper if I bought the battery later and went with the deal costco.com has on their site (Total was $1,110USD). I gave thought to the Santa Rosa PC's, but the prices are much more and the graphics card currently available is low performing. If your looking for a more energy efficient and faster computer, I would go with a core 2 duo intel (any of them are better than your current AMD) and I would choose a 12 cell battery for twice the battery life of a 6 cell (but the 12 cell sticks out from the bottom). Also, try creating a custom power plan and setting the display brightness lower. With my current laptop, I get just about 2 hours on power saver and the lowest display brightness.
