Here's my logo and registry oem information. Alter the model info in the regfile and put the logo in C:\ProgramData\Hewlett-Packard\images\hp_logo_120x120.bmp.

Here is the OEM logo that came with my notebook. Place it in C:\Windows\System32 and use this as the registry information:

I am sorry for the n00b question, but why are these important / what are they used for?

That said, why anyone would go out of there way to put a standard HP logo on their machine is a bit hard for me to understand. If I were putting my own random logo, I'd go for something more exotic like
Admit it, a laptop with that as a logo would be pretty impressive.
