    Here's my logo and registry oem information. Alter the model info in the regfile and put the logo in C:\ProgramData\Hewlett-Packard\images\hp_logo_120x120.bmp.

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\OEMInformation]
    "Model"="HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC"
    "Manufacturer"="Hewlett-Packard"
    "Logo"="C:\\ProgramData\\Hewlett-Packard\\images\\hp_logo_120x120.bmp"

    Here is the OEM logo that came with my notebook. Place it in C:\Windows\System32 and use this as the registry information:

    Code:
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\OEMInformation]
    "Model"="HP Pavilion HDX16 Notebook PC"
    "Manufacturer"="Hewlett-Packard"
    "Logo"="C:\\Windows\\System32\\oemlogo.bmp"

    They aren't important they are purely for aesthetics, people just like to see the OEM branding on their OEM notebooks. :)

    It is not exactly a functional thing to add, no, but aesthetics are OK to get into.

    That said, why anyone would go out of there way to put a standard HP logo on their machine is a bit hard for me to understand. If I were putting my own random logo, I'd go for something more exotic like

    Admit it, a laptop with that as a logo would be pretty impressive.
