I should have waited for this one instead of the ZBook 15u I purchased
Looks pretty sweet
Very thin, quad core, NVIDIA Quadro, mobile workstation
Only Windows 7 OS seems like a bit odd pairing given its a touch panel - I guess I kind of understand since everyone in business world has shunned Windows 8.
here's a link i found on it from earlier
Thoughts?

Looks good but I'm not overly impressed with their choice of the graphics card... It's basically a lower range 384 shader Kepler, which can't even handle wireframe anti-alias in Autodesk Surface and chokes as model complexity goes up. I know Maya and Rhino have lower requirements, but still. Plus, there is so little help from its CUDA cores for rendering that you don't even bother thinking about using them.

I wish they'd fix the keyboard on it and include dedicated Home, End, PgUp, PgDn keys. I don't know how a notebook sold with productivity in mind can leave these keys out. Otherwise this notebook looks pretty good.

That exactly. It's ridiculous and I'd prefer the mentioned default keys instead. Also I miss a dedicated ethernet port. It's not like cable connections suddenly become obsolete in companies. And they still remain more reliable than WLAN. Pain in the ass to carry around intermediate adapters all the time...
I mean even if we take it as a "gaming laptop"... consider it taking to a LAN party, you'd most likely want to use an ethernet adapter rather than WLAN. To be honest, the HP decision is just plain stupid in both cases: gaming/workstation.Illustrator76 likes this. -
Looks like a USB ethernet is included in every unit from the online docs
-
Yep, mine came with an Ethernet adapter in the box.

It is very expensive and all ports are at the back, even audio out!

By the same logic you could say that they should remove all but a single USB-slot because people could use an external USB-Hub. See how it ended on the Macbook Pro with its ridiculous 2 USB-slots. It has turned useless for the usage as a mobile workstation. It actually contradicts the point of a mobile workstation.
