I plan on buying a laptop on Monday, April 09, 2007 at Circuit City. The one I picked out is the HP dv6000z. Here is the link to the circuit city offer. Will this come with the vista OEM cd and the HP restore disk. I like to mess around with my computer which could result in a corrupt operating system so I would need to install. I also like to configure my own partitions and have multiple drives for different things. What is the recomended size for the partiton which will have Windows Vista Home Premium on it. Any feedback would be appreciated and I look forward to buying my first laptop.

If you aren't dual booting or running separate user accounts, I guess a single partition is fine. Some people want to separate their data from the OS, so you might want two partitions, a 15-20 gig partition for WIndows Vista and the rest for your data partition.

You should be able to make recovery discs (2 DVDs) when you get your notebook. But it restores your PC to factory settings, not just the OS, so you will need to back up your documents.

Does it come with the OEM CD?

No, it doesn't come with OEM DVDs. You have to create your own recovery DVDs like already stated.
If you want want a OEM version of Vista than you'll have to buy it.
