Hi Guys. Please help. I was installing my heatsink cooler on my HP Omen 17 GTX 1070 laptop but I may have used to much force and I bent the Socket into the motherboard and to the side. How can i repair it without damaging the threads of the socket and motherboard?? Please help. I'm worrying that 3 retention screws won't be enough to secure the heatsink onto the CPU diode. Dont get me the wrong, the screw does thread in and lift up slightly but it doesn't go in straight and it sitting against the edge of the motherboard.

Forgive my ignorance to laptop motherboard jargon. I'm still new in the field. Thanks in advance, I've attached pictures IMG-20180408-WA0046.jpeg

It's the bottom right hand socket that has bent to the side against motherboard.

use an external image uploading site, the upload function in the forums won't be fixed anytime soon.

Considering they are apparently are not even able to remove ]]> from their code. Prety sure they don't have anyone that can code anymore so theres that. Sites getting more and more broken.

Thanks for the reply. Which site do you sugges

These metal holes that hold the heatsink secured onto the CPU, one hole has been pushed down and against the motherboard. I need to know how align it centre so I can thread it back up so it doesn't catch against the side.

You have to dismantle the entire laptop and see if it is possible to glue on place the Cpu backplate in correct position. Backplate is what you can see in the pict...

Thanks so much for your response. How would I know if its gluable or not? What glue would I use? Thanks again for your valuable info sir. See pic, this is the back of my system board, I have the same laptop that Mobius 1 had. Compliments to @Mobius 1 for the picture. I have the same board as him. Hey @Papusan. What doubles sided tape can I use to stick the CPU backplate? Is all double sided tape non conductive and safe to apply on the PCB Motherboard or which ones would you recommend. The CPU backplate is loose on the one side only so I'll only need a little to hold it into place so the hole screw doesn't sink down. Please advise on a recommended Double sided tape that can be used to hold the CPU backplate in place. Thanks in advance kind sir :)
