I bought a DV6000 HP Pavilion laptop about a year ago whilst in the US on holiday, After six months the laptop stopped charging properly ( had to place the laptop on different surfaces/ positions sometimes) so that the charging will start.

Anyway had search the net and found this to be a common issue with the DV6000 laptops.

As I live outside the US it means the warranty is no use to me since the warranty only covers the US/canada market.

Last week the laptop stopped charging completely so I want to resolve this ( im thinking of buying a new laptop charging cable & also a new DC powerjack )

Can anyone help me out by providing some information on whether replacing the power jack will resolve my issue ? also as Iv had some knowledge of building computers before I would like to fix this myself so if anyone can provide information on how to fix this , please let me know.

    Thanks in advance
