    HP Pav dv5 won't turn on :(

    A couple weeks ago my laptop stopped working. After turning it on, the screen would remain black, and a dos cursor would just continue to blink in the top left corner.

    Now, it won't even turn on.

    Anything I can do to check what it might be before bringing it in for repair?

    If it doesn't turn on at all there's not much to check. If the AC adapter is working it's probably the mobo.
