I have had my HP Pavilion 15 now for just going on a full year. Recently it did an automatic update which ended up wiping the multimedia data such as downloads and game saves off of my laptop. I am running it on Windows 8.1 which was the default OS. I have tried Windows 10 on it twice only to find it either very slow or nearly crashing my laptop irreversibly.

I am wondering why this could have happened. I have F-Secure installed as my antivirus and have scanned the whole laptop to find nothing. Can anyone give me an answer?
