Off the top of my head, I can remember that last year, Best Buy had a dv6000t worth somewhere around $750 USD (retail) on sale for around $300 USD. Of course, there were only like 4 per store and you have to get in line reallllly early to get one of the tickets to buy a lappy.

But yeah, you can check out www.bfads.net to see when Best Buy/Circuit City/Office Max/etc. flyers are leaked.

No. Black Friday is the morning when big box retail stores (BB, circuit city, walmart, etc.) have deeply discounted items on sale. HP's coupons only apply to the hpshopping.com CTO (customized-to-order) website.

The problem with all those after thanksgiving sales is that people are literally crazy. The best part of that Holiday weekend for me is watching the news afterwards to see all the messed up stuff that people are doing to get that deal. Anyways, you'd have to be at the stores by like 3AM or earlier to get in line for anything decent.

If you do go for it though good luck! Make sure to bring some protection against those crazy people :)

Yeah, I got to work (at BestBuy) at 4:30 AM, and the line was maybe 3 stores long. Couldn't even get to the parking lot behind the store without honking at the people in line. You have to realize that only the first few dozen get the good stuff, some people waited in line but couldn't get anything because they weren't in the front, and guess who they took their frustration out on.

I got to BB at 4 AM last year as well, and yeah.. the line had already wrapped around 3 sides of the building, lol. It's really fun though; even though I wasn't buying any big big items I still had a good time :)
