Hey guys, my friend is thinking about purchasing a new laptop for his mother. The HP DM3 laptops look to the best solution so far since they are both lightweight and have great battery life, something he thinks she'll appreciate. One thing i'm not sure about is their ability to run Adobe Photoshop CS4 smoothly.

I don't use Photoshop very often and when I do, it's on my laptop, which is pretty decent in terms of specifications. Will the program run fine on a laptop with a Intel CULV or AMD Neo processor and integrated graphics? Which leads me to my next question:

Which Pavilion laptop would you recommend? Are they both similar to each other than the processors?

Thanks, and if there's any good coupon codes, please let me know! Thanks again.

The Intel SP9300/G105M option should work - but it is more expensive (about $150-250) than both AMD or the lower-clocked Intel CPUs.

i was hoping it would be around $700, since that's the cost of the DV4T i configured. That would be our second choice in laptops, to get a 14.1 inch laptop. I understand a 13.3 inch laptop would be pricier since it's smaller but as long as it has enough juice to run Adobe Photoshop.

FWIW, PSCS3 Extended runs on my laptop spec'd in my sig uber smoothly. Note I have no discreet graphics, but PS is a RAM and CPU program anyway. The SP9300/G105 would run it very smoothly. Not sure about the others. HP needs to give us the SP9300 option without the G105. It would reduce cost a bit and lengthen battery life.

I have the SU7300 with 105m and i have PS CS4 open right now.... it works fine for light/medium use..... not going to be applying filters to 100 pics in lightroom at the same time or anything but for editing one or two photos and such are fine.
