I have a problem where Windows Live Mail locks up. This only happens when I am using the Intel HD integrated graphics on my laptop ("power saving GPU"). The problem does not occur with the ATi "high performance" graphics adapter. This is a known bug in the Intel graphics driver:

Windows Live Mail stops responding or fails to start after installing KB2454826

I downloaded an updated Intel graphics driver from the HP page for my notebook:
HP Pavilion dm4-1060ea Entertainment Notebook PC - HP technical support (United Kingdom - English)

However when I try to install it I get an error message:

    ---------------------------
    Error
    ---------------------------
The driver being installed is not validated for this computer. Please obtain the appropriate driver from the computer manufacturer.

    Setup will exit.
    ---------------------------
    OK
    ---------------------------

I'm using the latest BIOS for my machine (F.26). I have no idea why it would think that this driver is a not a suitable HP one. This is the same error you get if you try and install an Intel generic (non-HP) version of the driver.

Does anyone know how to get around this problem?
