    Hi all,

I've been having this really weird problem with my charging my laptop lately. I can't pin down the problem, whether it's the battery, the Jack or the AC adapter.

Basically, when I charge my laptop it will stop charging at random. But then If I plug the AC adapter into a different power outlet (or wall socket) it will start charging again! But then once again after a short (or sometimes long) period of time it will stop charging. Then, stranger again, if I switch back to the original power outlet I was using it will start charging again.

This problem is just repeating itself and sometimes I have to search for a socket until it starts charging again. It has me pretty frustrated at the moment because the laptop is new since Nov. 2008 so it's not even a year old yet.

I hope someone can tell me why this is happening, thanks in advance for any help from anyone!

I haven't had this problem with my laptop, what did tech support have to say about it?

yeah it's a strange one alright!

Tech support didn't have much to help me with besides the basic stuff, such as checking to see if everything is plugged in right, releasing flea power, updating the bios and everything else and the stupid things like that. I don't have a clue what could possibly cause it... I don't know if it's because the battery or AC adapter if defective, but it's like the computer just decides to stop charging, it's extremely annoying

I would be really annoyed as well. Have they offered to send it in for repair?

nope, my warranty is expired, but I have the laptop insured so that should cover in problems if I want a replacement.... It's just the hastle of getting a replacement really, I want to make sure that's it's a problem I can or can'ty fix before I go so far as to get it repaired or replaced somewhere.

Initially when I bought the laptop it was the last one available and it was used as the display laptop. The guy at PC World assured me that this didn't matter though, but I'm having my doubts now. :p
