not bad but you may be able to get more by customizing it at HP.

How you are planning to use your new notebook. ie. video editing, music encoding, internet browsing, etc...

do you need bluetooth?
dv6871us has discrete graphics and is same amount as dv6830us.
dv6870us has bluetooth, it is over $1000 and has AMD processor and has fingerprint reader, if you don't need bluetooth or fingerprint reader then 6871 is a good choice and better performance than 6830. -
you're right, i dont really need either bluetooth or fingerprint reader. dv6871us does look good but the cheapest price I can get it at is $879. is there a place where its available at $849?
i'm a student, so i primary use it to browse the net, use word/spreadsheet applications, watch movies, listen to music. I edit photos quite a bit and occasionally edit videos. -
Yesterday it was $849 at NewEgg. $879 is the best price I see today and not at NewEgg.
-
dv6871us is $849.99 after rebate again today 05/17 at NewEgg.
