Ok. I not to long ago bough a new HP DV9408nr laptop.
Came with vista but I put XP on it instead. Ran fine.
Lately I've been experiencing some shut down problems. I'm pretty computer savvy but I'm no pro. The fan on it doesn't always run which leads me on to believe it's probably over heating. However like I said I'm no pro so I need some other opinions. It turns on sometimes. I read up on it a little and found some other people who had the same issues with the fans runnin sometimes. It might be hitting it's degree that shuts it off, But I'm not sure. Anyone know if that's what it's doin or not? I know it's not a software problem cause there's no errors or anything. And it only started doin it when the fan fails. I also read the indicator on the motherboard may have died? Anyways, any professional opinions? If you need more info let me know.

Definitely flash in the latest BIOS. One of the fixes they added is to run the fan 24x7.
