    Hi Guys
I installed XP 32bit to the my Pavilion DV6-3104Eg with Win 7x64(factory installed) and now it dual boots. In XP Ati card is not detected while the Intel card works fine.

HP drivers like Ati driver packages ends installation with warnings. Catalyst manager is not installed in the pc. I tried to force the addition by have disk with many inf from files(incl. catalyst package,HP package,laptopvideo2go etc etc),but this gives error 'The specified location does not contain information about your hardware'. Tried driver sweeper to remove anything. Drive max, drive genius etc do not detect the Ati card.

In device manager there is no yellow marks and card works fine in Win 7. There is 2 generic pnp monitor which could be the Ati card. Tried updating driver etc,but same as before.

Any one with experience in this?

Sometimes when i'm reinstalling my drivers or installing them after a windows 7 reinstallation, the ati drivers won't show up when I run the HP graphic driver installation. It will just show the intel drivers.

My usual procedure is to run the ati uninstallation utility, going into device manager and uninstalling all device managers, turning off my wifi card so Windows doesn't try to download anything, reinstarting into safe mode and running driver sweeper, then installing the HP drivers.

I always choose 'custom' to make sure the ati driver is there and if it isn't, i try running as admin then if that doesn't work I restart the laptop and it's worked every time so far.

I don't think you can use AMD GPU in Window XP simply because there is no Switchable driver for Windows XP release by HP.

There is no driver for WinXP at all..

I do not need switchable graphics. Just run Ati all the time for gaming.

XP cannot detect the Ati card. I do not know why!

Try install a normal "non switchable" driver for Intel HD in Window 7. I bet windows won't detect that AMD GPU too.

    Rep'd.
I have now installed normal intel graphics. But Ati is nowhere to be found in XP.
