I'm setting up a new Pavilion G6 with Intel HD Graphics and Windows 7 x64. I have an external LCD connected to the VGA port (will switch to HDMI when my cable arrives) and I'm using the external LCD as the main, primary single display.
When I put the laptop to sleep by closing the lid then wake it up again it doesn't remember the previous multiple display setting, so it turns both screens on (external and built-in). I'd like it to remember the previous setting and wake up with the external LCD as the only active screen.
This problem only happens when closing the lid and opening again. If the lid is open, but the power setting puts it to sleep, the external display setting is remembered and correctly restored when it wakes up.
I tried changing settings with the function key, Windows 7 display settings and I saved a display profile in the Intel HD Graphics settings (selecting the external LCD as the main/primary and only active display).
I also had a look at the Windows Power settings for waking from sleep and checked the BIOS options, but didn't find any options to remember the external display settings when waking from sleep.
My old laptop has no trouble remembering the external display setting when waking from sleep by opening the lid. I hope I can get the HP G6 to work the same way, so I don't have to toggle multi-display settings every single time I wake up the laptop.
Thanks for your advice.
