I have a neighbor's Pavilion G6-1D44CA that's giving me a problem. The screen was cracked so she gave it to me to replace it. Ordered a new one and installed it, but now the backlight is gone. Tried hooking the cracked screen back up and same thing. The new screen works, if you shine a bright light on it you can see everything, but there is no backlight at all. I noticed on other models the issue is sometimes a blown fuse, but I looked on the motherboard and can't seem to find any fuses at all, certainly none labelled with an F#. Anyone have any suggestions?

    Inverter might have gotten loose?

    Check the connections on it.

Hey, thanks for the response. Sorry for the crazy delay, it's been a hectic month and I'm just getting back to this now. Doesn't appear like the inverter is loose. It's a brand new screen, everything seems tight. I had some problems getting the connection snug on the first go, so I have a feeling like something shorted out when I restarted it. Still have no idea how to get this backlight to work.

Did you make sure the display cable is connected correctly?

Yup, disconnected and reconnected, still the same problem. Here's some pictures to show what I'm dealing with. First one is the screen with a flash showing it's working but very very dim. (please forgive the finger prints) Other two are of the connection, connected and disconnected.

I've attached a couple pictures of the motherboard where the connector is in case anyone has an idea.
