I recently purchased the dv2104eu and i started making the recovery discs, but as soon is it got to disc three it wouldnt finish loading and would stop and say there is a error with recording error 12.

Is there any way to solve this, or is it possible to purchase some recovery discs.

Some have posters have stated that recovery disk creation requires DVD+R, although I created mine with DVD-R's. Try switching to +R, if you aren't already using them, and be sure to get a good quality DVD blank. I suggest Verbatim, althoguh TDK, Maxell or Sony will also do.

And yes, it is possible to purchase a recovery set from HP, for about $15.00US I believe. Just call customer support.

    Ditto what spatialanomaly said above....

Try differant type discs..... "if" the Hp disc creator will allow you to do so.
(HP recovery disc creator craps out once (1) set of discs have been made,,,,)

If it was me... I'd call HP and get them to ship me the discs....
(When I did so the cost was -0-...)

PS: I'd look on HP Partsurfer for the part numbers BEFORE calling HP... and if it was me I'd request the OS "re" install discs so you can do a FRESH INSTALL and NOT the stupid recovery discs... and use Ghost or Arconis True Image to "image" the drive.
