Do well have any Pavillion Sleekbook owners here? I don't see a thread about it..

I just got mines yesterday and I'm loving it. Trying to get used to windows 8 though. Nice glossy screen, thin, light, doesn't run hot (maybe not yet). No problems so far.

How's your experience with your sleekbook?

I just purchased one today because my other laptop, which I've had for three years, was about to crap out. Haven't tried it out yet -- I was in such a rush to purchase (on sale for 450!), that I failed to notice it didn't have a cd drive. Have you tried using an external cd drive with it? I may return it, but I don't want to because the price was great and it's so light and easy to carry around!

I got mines yesterday at Bestbuy for $399 before tax. I love the quality and it's soo light. True it doesn't have an optical drive because I don't need one anyways. You can always it up an external CD drive easily. It also comes with Windows 8 which is soo fast and innovative.

I picked up the red Sleekbook 14 with the AMD chip and 4gb of ram for $350nzd(~$260usd) the other day, and it's pretty awesome for the price. It has a really nice webcam, it's sexily thin, the screen is okay, keyboard is pretty nice, trackpad is actually pretty decent - better then what I was expecting (coming from a macbook!) and it's also relatively quiet. I even managed to get a few older games running on it! The only big problem I have is the battery. It was advertised for six hours, but I only get two with light browsing. This might be different with the intel version, but it's pretty bad with the AMD. Would HP do something if I complain? I couldn't even find a replacement or extended battery on the internet for this model.

That seems awfully low for a brand new laptop that uses a 18W apu. Call HP and make a claim, you might get a replacemet or a free new battery. Can't hurt to try.

I just got a HP Pavilion Sleekbook 14-b130sa love the thing it has an i3 CPU , 6GB ram , 32Gb SSD boot drive and a 750GB HDD.
Very fast bootup time. And it was £379 at PC World. :)
