Is it possible to upgrade the screen to a better quality one? My eyes tend to get very tied after extensive use. It would literally "do me in" for the rest of the day. I have tried different settings and drivers but no luck. I also have a Lenovo yoga 2 11.6" and the screen is brilliant - never get eye strain with this.

Also, the fan on the HP Pavilion Sleekbook sometimes gets a bit whiny - I believe it's the type of fan HP uses. Is it possible to get a smoother sounding fan?

    Thanks

The only panel upgrade you can do on that model is to the panel fron the Envy M6 from the same time. Its still not a good panel but its a little better than the one you have. 1080p panel is not possible, the motherboard only have a 20pin connector.

The fan is easy to clean, just take the computer apart and you see it directly. Take the sticker of from the center of the fan and lube it a little with some oil and it will probably be silent.
