I should not have looked but I did. [] I promised I would not look at the zt3000's configuration screen any more once my 30 days (to get a price adjustment or return it) were up so I would not discover the zt's at even a lower price. Well, I did not keep that promise. Today, I looked. [
]
I was fortunate to catch HP a week ago when my ZT configuration was $49 cheaper than what I paid. This was day 27 ('after receiving') and HP did give me a credit. However, it is now one week later (to the day...so it's day 34 for me) and the price is now $99 cheaper. Oh well, I least I was able to get half of it back. Hey, by Christmas, they could be hundreds cheaper due to newer models coming out (this is just a guess, no info backing this up). That's technology for you.
So, bottom line is that the HP Pavilion ZT3000 is now about $99 cheaper than it was about 44 days ago when I ordered. At least on the three configurations I had priced out before ordering, it was. If you are in the market for one of these, now may be a good time to buy, especially if you are a student. With the model being cheaper these days (and will already have XP updated with SP2), the APP (student discount), the $100 instant rebate and the $100 mail-in rebate, you stand to save a lot of money. This is IMHO.
Just a note: If you do buy one or any HP/Compaq, take a lesson from me, do not look again at the configuration screen after your 30 day price adjusting period is over. You might look like this [] or this [
] or even [:0]. If you do look and it does turn out to be cheaper, do what I did here. Share the info so someone in the market for one these can save a few more dollars even if you can not.
Happy Buying []
P.S. I look like this []. I still got a good deal!

hey, well even though this information is painful for you to know it's helpful for those shopping so thanks for sharing the information!

Hey, thanks. But it's no problem. I do not mind sharing. I want to help others save just as this forum helped me during my time of decision making/ordering/post-ordering. It is time to give something back.
However, I do not think I will be going back to config a system until it is time to get one for my nephew who just went off to college. []

Hey, thanks for the info. I just ordered my zt3000 last week, but it's even cheaper now. I'll have to call hpshopping.com to do a price match or something.
