I am running into an issue with my dm1-4170us throttling when playing any sort of game. This is the Core i3-2367m model. The integrated graphics (Intel HD 3000) should be able to handle low-spec games like Torchlight 2 and some older games. What I am running into is that the laptop runs the game without issue, but after a couple minutes (2-3) of gameplay the fan spins up to high and the game slows to a crawl. I have taken the bottom cover off and thoroughly blown out the laptop but it did not affect the issue. When using HW Monitor I can see that the CPU is not getting above 70C, which should not be hot enough to cause any problem.

Has anyone experienced throttling with this laptop? Is there any way to resolve it?

I ended up installing the HP CoolSense software and that seems to have reduced the frequency with which the issue is occurring.
