I'm looking at getting this notebook. It looks awesome, has good reviews and I hear it has long battery life. I may get this instead of a Netbook.

My question is which configuration is better?

    dm3-1100sa
Intel® Celeron® Processor SU2300 1.2 GHz, Level 2 cache 1 MB w/ 500GB HDD and Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD, up to 1695 MB total available graphics memory

    OR

    dm3-1105ea
AMD Turion™ Neo X2 Dual-Core Mobile Processor for Ultrathin Notebooks L625 1.6 GHz, Level 2 cache 1 MB w/ 320GB HDD and ATI Radeon™ HD 3200 Graphics, up to 1982 MB total available graphics memory

I'm after web surfing, e-mails, Playing WoW, watching HD videos and HD YouTube vids and a long battery life.

    Thanks!

If you even want to consider playing WoW, get the AMD model. You will probably still have to lower settings and don't expect miracle battery life (4-5 hours with basic web browsing).

does the HP DM3 is affected by heat issues? because the DV series has a lot of reported heat issues.

Yea, does it kick out a lot of heat? TSE, is 4-5 hours just web surfing via wifi?

Be careful. I got a dm3t and it didn't have a flat screen. It took 3 weeks to order and 3 weeks to get a replacement. I switched to a dv4t which is heavier and slightly slower, but has a built-in dvd drive and was a lot cheaper.

The DM3 doesn't get THAT hot... It idles for me around 15 degrees celsius just web browsing and stuff....

Yes 4-5 hours web browsing with the WiFi on... The Intel one has up to 10 hours but quite frankly the add ons to make it comparable in performance to the AMD one is way too expensive.

The only intel one in the uk is the Celeron and it's about the same price if that's what you mean.

    Hi scott335cook,

I'm in the exact same situation now. Which one have you gone for? What do you think?

    Longer battery life: Intel

    Bang-for-buck, better performance-per-dollar: AMD

Does anyone know if the DM3 with Intel® Celeron® Processor SU2300 1.2 GHz and Intel 4500MHD would handle 720p and 1080p mkv files well?
