I'm currently a student and needed a small laptop with portability so I can haul it around. Tonight I purchased the dv2320us without hesitation for $1100.00 after mail in rebate. It came with:
    AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile TL-60 2.0 Ghz
    1.3mp camera
    HP mobile remote control
14.1 WXGA High-Defintion brightview widescreen display
    160GB hard drive
    2048mb ddr2
Nvidia Geforce go 6150 with shared memory
    Lightscrive suber multi 8x dvdrw
    wireless b/g
5 in 1 digital media reader
    Battery
    Window vista home premium
    etc...
A 15.4 screen was just too big to haul around campus. I already have a nice Dell 1505 anyway. I'm not all that familar with the Turion X2 mobile chips but I do know they don't compare to the dual core 2. For just doing school work and hauling around is this a good laptop? I can't find reviews anywhere on the internet for this model. I just needed mostly portability with a little power.
    thanks

That looks like a pretty good system, except I think you could find a model with a lesser processor and smaller hard drive for a cheap price and it'd still suit your needs.

And as for reviews, simply search 'dv2000z.'

That's the same as the notebook you're looking for, except the model your looking at is a retail model, which has a different numbering scheme than the base system does.

Thanks, I was a little confused about the whole number scheme.

I am interested in a getting a dv6000z with AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile TL-60 2.0 Ghz. But I am not sure of the heat and noise of AMD equipped laptop.

Can anyone tell me which Intel CPU performs about the same as AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile TL-60 2.0 Ghz here?
