Wow if there's one question I want to ask badly it's this one. Back in September it was announced that HP was going to introduce the dv2600 and was "coming later in the week". Well it's almost November and I'm still waiting! What an agonizing wait.

I spent the whole summer looking for my very first laptop and I think my answer is the dv2600. The thing is though that I seriously do need it ASAP because 1) I'm in college and 2) this current computer just isn't cutting it anymore.

So anyways I would just like a straight answer: when is it coming out in the US? I'm so eager to go on the website & customize it already.

Yes, I would have loved a dv2600 as well. Its a beautiful notebook, and its not common like the dv2000 and 6000s are. I was anticipating it to come out sometime in September, but it probably won't be out for a while longer.

It's just a retail version of the dv2500 series. In other words, the notebooks have been out in America for a while now.

Yeah, but they were talking about making them CTO, which quite frankly, I don't see happening.

Why do you think so? And if so, then what was the point of that "news announcement" back in September?

True it's a dv2500 with the Verve design, but I like the brownish look and I want to be able to customize it.
