This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Hi,

    I had bought this laptop about a year and half back and have never stopped having problems. I needed feedback on couple of issues which are show-stoppers:

    1) the DVD drive doesn't recognize any media (CD or DVD). I had sent it to HP about a year back and it was working when they had returned it but the same problem had resurfaced in a month.
    2) off late the laptop performance degrades tremendously as soon as it's power is unplugged. It works fine when we plug it back.

    Has anyone encountered the same problems and do we have a solution.
