My HP Pavilion dv4000 is now 3 years old, and the motherboard is damaged. I would like to know where i can get a motherboard compatible to change the old one.

One way to replace your motherboard is to buy from the HP Parts Store - http://h20141.www2.hp.com/hpparts/Search_Multi_Product.asp?SearchCriteria=DV4000

However, replacement parts tend to be very expensive there. There are a lot of other places that sell dv4000 replacement boards at a much lower price. To get you started, take a look at Google Shopping results - http://www.google.com/products?q=HP+dv4000+motherboard.
