I'm not sure if anybody else is having this problem...I tried searching the web for it but it doesn't seem so. For the past month my laptop has been getting VERY hot and occassionally turns off as a safety feature because of how hot it is (lately it's been doing it more often). The fan always seems stressed but it doesn't even seem to help w/ the overheating...

Well just yesterday, the top of my fli[-up screen started melting the plastic towards the right a little over night. Now I got this hole about 1 inch in width where I can see the inside of the screen and there is melted plastic all around the hole. It did nothing to how my LCD screen works but it sure makes my laptop look like a piece of trash now. I'm pretty sure it's not supposed to get so hot that it starts melting the plastic...The weird thing is that its the farthest part away from the battery or power supply.

Has anyone else had this problem? I noticed that the specific part that melted was getting very hot about a couple weeks ago which seemed strange to me. If you have this laptop, feel the top right side of the plastic just above the screen and check to see if it's hot. Maybe it's just a rare thing that mine had it

I spoke w/ HP and they said that my computer was not under warranty...which expired in August of this year. I also asked if other people were having these problems and they said that it was a rare issue...which probably means I won't be able to repair it for free anytime soon or have it recalled
