Searched the web and this site and cannot find much information on these two (intel 2nd generation) lappys. What am I doing wrong. ????

Based on my needs, the dv4t seems to be a great match and cheaper. I customized the following and they are VERY similar. I would prefer backlit AND fingerprint reader but the options aren't available for both models. dv4t has backlit option, dm4z has fingerprint reader as standard but no backlit option.

My needs are basic (internet, office and music). Any suggestions/comments?

The big difference between the 2 is the graphics. If you're just going to be doing web browsing/movie watching/etc then the dv4 is probably fine. If you want to do even light gaming I'd definitely get the dm4.
